9:44: Two FTs for Nowitzki. Chalmers draws a foul and will shot after the timeout. 9:22 left within the second, Dallas up 22-21. Not a lot showtime so far. Both defenses are intense.
9:39: Bosh muscles in a putback. J.J. Barea in for Dallas as the second quarter begins. Nowitzki back in. And Terry drain's Dallas' fourth 3 for a 20-18 lead. Miller answers with his first 3 at the other end.
9:38: LeBron has 8 points, Bosh 6, Nowitzki 4.
9:35: LeBron finishes the quarter on the court in spite of his two fouls. Dallas is shooting only 29%, but ends the quarter leading 17-16.
9:33: Terrible turnover by Kidd on a pass into the seats. Terry goes to the rim and takes a challenging foul from LeBron that puts him on the floor,but he comes up smiling. That's two personals on LeBron. Terry hits two FTs along with the Mavs are up by 1, their initial lead.
9:27: Wade misses two free throws. Shooters are struggling so far. Dallas is 1-for-7 and Miami is 4-for-13. But LeBron hits his 1st three and puts Miami up 16-12. Timeout with 2:04 left in the first.
9:25: Nowitzki heads to the bench. Joel Anthony draws his second foul for Miami. Heat's lead down to one.
9:23: Kidd buries a different 3. For all of their defensive prowess, the Heat are acting like there's no need to guard the old man.
9:22: LeBron makes the plus-one, Heat up by 6. Jason Kidd answers having a wide-open three.
9:19: Lebron drives the lane on Nowitzki, gets to the rim and scores off the glass, and draws the foul. He'll shoot it immediately after the timeout. Heat up 10-5, five:30 left in the 1st.
9:17: Bosh scores on a putback. But next time down Bibby wastes the Miami possession with a horrible shot. Looks like he's still struggling. Miami up 8-5, under 6 minutes left in the 1st.
9:15: Defensive skirmish so far.
Anthony has a pair of blocks for Miami and Stevenson blocked Bosh.
9:14: Nowitzki draws the fall from Anthony. He was 59-for-61 in the series against OKC, and he hits his initial two here. Tied at 4.
9:11: Nowitzki makes his initial shot. But next time down clangs his first attempt for a 3.
9:10: Heat open with Joel Anthony guarding Nowitzki. LeBron hits a jumper and the Heat are up 4-0.
9:08: We're under way. Dallas opens with DeShawn Stevenson on LeBron. Bosh goes straight to the line and hits two to draw first blood
9:07: Underestimated how several commercials they'd attempt to cram in prior to tipoff. Still waiting.
9:00: Lineups have been introduced, the anthem has been sung. Tipoff in a couple.
8:51: Waiting for tipoff. ABC just coined a brand new word for the obsession with Nowitzki: Re-Dirk-ulous.
