The actress was rushed to a hospital Thursday night in Thousand Oaks, Calif. following her sister named 911.

A hospital spokesperson tells TMZ, Heather was awake and responsive when she arrived these days -- and she is at the moment responding nicely to therapy. According to the spokesperson, Heather is doing significantly greater now and physicians are hopeful she will likely be released tomorrow.

We're also told Heather's parents are presently using the actress inside the hospital.

Heather Locklear was taken towards the hospital by ambulance Thursday afternoon soon after taking a unsafe mix of prescription drugs and alcohol ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

We've learned ... Locklear's sister referred to as 911 at two:05 PM PT fearing Heather was in danger.

The fire department, together with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department responded. Paramedics examined Heather and determined she necessary to become hospitalized.

This is not the first time Locklear has had a medical emergency where 911 responded. In 2008, her physician was concerned she could have overdosed on prescription meds. He named 911 as well as the operator described the situation as a "suicide attempt." It turned out to become a false alarm.

Locklear lately known as off her engagement to Jack Wagner.

Heather was at the Lakers game Tuesday night ... hanging having a friend, who was playfully attempting to take away her beverage. It is unclear if the drink contained alcohol.

"She is in no danger and she's going to become just fine," Bill and Diane Locklear said in a statement issued by Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center last night. Locklear's parents were by her side, reports People.com.

The Melrose Place star, 50, was taken to the hospital after the fire department and sheriff's deputies responded to the call at Locklear's home in Westlake Village, north of Los Angeles home. CBS reports that when paramedics arrived, they determined she needed to be hospitalized.

Los Robles spokesperson Kris Carraway-Bowman declined to disclose any medical information beyond Locklear's condition, reports People.com. The actress arrived at 2:30 p.m. and by 8 p.m. was sleeping, says Carraway-Bowman. "Her parents wanted everybody to know that she's doing well, she's fine, she's not in any danger, she's healthy," Carraway-Bowman told KCAL-TV.

In November, Locklear and Jack Wagner broke off their engagement soon after years of an on-again, off-again romance.

Locklear has been hospitalized several times over the years, notes AP. In 2009, she pleaded no contest to reckless driving right after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication.Heather Locklear
